Hot & Cold Postpartum Therapy Packs

I was given this hot & cold relief pad to try as part of the Stellar Product Testing Panel. In general, I really like the idea of these reusable hot/cold packs, but found them lacking in execution. I'm all for reusable things as much as possible, but it turns out that reusable perineal products for postpartum is really a challenge.
It was really a challenge to figure out how best to use these while also using a pad, which is very necessary postpartum. With a pad plus the reusable pack, it was pretty bulky and felt like nothing was staying in place. I tried using it without a pad, but postpartum that was not a good idea, and the liners provided with the reusable packs are not absorbent.
I also didn't really enjoy cleaning the reusable packs between each use. The liners provided do help somewhat, but (at least for me) there was so much bleeding and other stuff going on down there that it was pretty gnarly to wash these things.
All of that said, it does work well for heating or cooling, so if you've got a system to navigate these challenges, then it's an effective product. For me, it was just so much easier to use the disposable cold pads that the hospital provides.

I LOVE these ice pads!!! They come in handy for a very sore area and maternal cramping and period cramps the best purchase I’ve ever made!!

I was thinking I wouldn’t be able to use this since I ended up having a c section. However, I was able to use the cold therapy on my incision once it was closed and my bandage came off. And I could use the heat therapy for cramping while breast feeding. I enjoyed the ease of use and reuse. I wish it would stay cool a little longer, but it was simple to refresh it between uses. And fairly inexpensive so buying a second pad wouldn’t be out of the question.

As first time parents you don’t know what you really need until after your baby is here. My wife ended up needing a C-Section to deliver our son. On top of that, she is regularly pumping for her breast milk. Due to these two things she is constantly battling discomfort. When we were gifted these Hot & Cold Postpartum Therapy Packs as part of the Stellar Product Testing Panel we felt truly blessed. At first glance you would feel like these are your standard hot or cold pack but they are so much more! You get 2 reusable packs and 12 sleeves. The shape is very slim and compact and they fit anywhere you put them. We loved that they changed colors depending on what you need, purple for cold and white for hot. The hot and cold lasted about 5-10 minutes at their most intense temperature give or take some change. After that time period they are still warm/cool. Great for soothing pain along her C-Section stitches. If you decide to breastfeed/pump for your child you will come to a point where your breast become tender or even hard. Having 2 packs really helps when my wife’s breast are hurting. The best thing about this product is that they freeze really fast and heat up even faster. The only thing we would change is making these packs a little wider and we wish they retain their temperature longer. Also if you heat them up they have a faint smell to them but nothing overwhelming. Overall great product and we recommend you giving them a try!

These cold packs were easy to use and felt wonderful after a vaginal birth. The disposable sleeve fit well and was not irritating to my sensitive skin. I’m not completely sure what the use of a heat pack would be, as heat typically increases swelling and that was one of my main reasons for using these packs.
